A BOOK IS A ROOM ist ein Projekt von Jana Maria Dohmann und Nadine Vollmer. Jana Maria Dohmann ist Künstlerin und Kunstvermittlerin. Nadine Vollmer ist Dramaturgin. Beide arbeiten seit Jahren an interdisziplinären, installativen und performativen Begegnungsmomenten und beschäftigen sich mit Fragen kritischer Raum-,Vermittlungs- & Institutionspraxis. Sie tun dies seit 2020 als gemeinsame künstlerische Forschung und verstehen es als kollektive Arbeit, die ein Lernen durch und mit anderen ist. Ihre Arbeit ist inspiriert von Künstler:innen und Autor:innen wie bell hooks, Bini Adamczak, Nora Sternfeld, Helio Oiticica, Franz Erhard Walther, Trisha Brown, Pauline Oliveros, Robert Filliou und anderen Fluxus-Künstler*innen, und Etel Adnan.

A BOOK IS A ROOM is a project by Jana Maria Dohmann and Nadine Vollmer. Jana Maria Dohmann is an artist and art mediator. Nadine Vollmer is a dramaturge. Both have been working for years on interdisciplinary, installative and performative moments of encounter, dealing with questions of critical spatial, mediation & institutional practice. They have been doing this since 2020 as joint artistic research and understand it as collective work that is learning through and with others. Their work is inspired by artists and writers such as bell hooks, Bini Adamczak, Nora Sternfeld, Helio Oiticica, Franz Erhard Walther, Trisha Brown, Pauline Oliveros, Robert Filliou and other Fluxus artists, and Etel Adnan.
